Matthew Dennis appointed as a Next Nature Fellow
Matthew Dennis of TU Eindhoven has been appointed as a Next Nature Fellow. He researches ethics of creativity and AI, and will works on Next Nature’s Digital Wellness exhibition

Matthew Dennis, a researcher in the Philosophy & Ethics group, has been appointed as a Next Nature Fellow. Dennis, an expert in the ethics of technology, explores the connection between creativity and well-being from a philosophical perspective.
Next Nature, an organization exploring the relationship between technology and nature, appointed Dennis because of his unique expertise. “AI is taking over many tasks that require human creativity. Understanding how to harness our creativity is important from an ethical perspective,” Dennis says. This is relevant not only to ethicists, but also to designers, engineers and academics because creativity is one of the most enjoyable aspects of their work.
As a Fellow, Dennis will collaborate with his doctoral student Lyanne Uhlhorn on the development of Next Nature’s Digital Wellness exhibition, which opens at Evoluon on Friday, Feb. 14, 2025. This appointment offers Dennis the opportunity to explore how designers and artists are creative and how they use AI in their work.
