Loe Schlicher from OPAC delivered a keynote at the International Surveillance and Protection Conference, with policymakers from over 10 EU countries.

Loe Schlicher from the OPAC group recently delivered a keynote at the ‘International Surveillance and Protection Conference’ in Amsterdam. In his keynote, Schlicher discussed several mathematical models developed in collaboration with master's student Mirthe Nachtegael and colleagues from the Naval Post Graduate School (Prof. Moshe Kress and Prof. Kyle Lin). These models provide insights into how to efficiently allocate "close protection officers" to threatened individuals.

This conference, organized by the Knowledge Center for Surveillance and Protection, brought together between 80-100 policymakers and advisors from across Europe. Guests from more than 10 EU countries shared knowledge and best practices, emphasizing the importance of international cooperation and knowledge exchange to enhance security in Europe.

From the Netherlands, Erik Schut, Director of Surveillance and Protection at the NCTV, and head of the Royal and Diplomatic Protection Service at the National Police, participated in the discussions.
