Lottery process 
To participate in the lottery, you must: 

1. Return the Confirmation Statement to ¹û¶³´«Ã½ 
2. Complete the guarantee payment (for non-EEA students) on time 

The lottery will take place in June, and all students will be notified by email whether they receive a direct housing offer. Exact dates will be communicated via email. 

If you are selected in the lottery, ¹û¶³´«Ã½ will try to accommodate your preferences, but this cannot be guaranteed. Availability depends on the housing options provided by our partners in the summer. 

Housing offers 

• If you are selected for a Vestide room: 
  You will receive an account to access Vestide’s private platform, where you can choose from a selection of furnished rooms reserved for ¹û¶³´«Ã½ international students. Since the number of available rooms matches the number of issued accounts, a room will always be available for you. 
• If you are selected for a room from another housing provider: 
  You will receive a link to their private platform, where you can select a furnished room reserved for ¹û¶³´«Ã½ international students. However, slightly more candidates will be invited than the number of available rooms. This means rooms will be assigned on a first come, first served basis. 

¹û¶³´«Ã½ follows this allocation system because experience shows that not all students who win the lottery accept their housing offer. To ensure that available rooms are assigned quickly, students on the waiting list (based on their lottery ranking number) may still get a chance to book a room if one becomes available. 

Housing contracts 
The contract type and duration vary by housing provider. If you receive a housing offer through the lottery, you will receive detailed information at that time. It is important to keep all housing options open, as there is no guarantee that you will receive an offer or that the offer will match your preferences. 

Tip! 
In addition to the lottery, Vestide offers student housing on the open market, including several options on campus. You can register separately via . The longer you remain registered with Vestide, the better your chances of receiving a housing offer. Registration is free, and while you may not receive an offer immediately, it can be useful later in your studies. Some contracts offered through the lottery last only one or two years, so securing housing for the future is always a good idea. 

Also check the other housing agencies for rooms outside the lottery. Not all of their rooms are part of the lottery and sometimes they have their own system to register students as well.

How to apply for housing?
With the InSite onboarding of employees or guests, HR sends an info mail. This info mail also contains the part about accommodation and how you can apply. HR Services then receives the notification, which they approve in Mobility Online.

What happens after we have received your application?
When we receive your application for housing, we will send you a confirmation e-mail. Around 8 weeks prior to your arrival, the Housing Officer of the International Office will inform you if you will be offered housing with Vestide or that you will placed on the reserve list. This list is however not a guarantee for housing at a later date. In case we can offer you a priority account to book a furnished accommodation, note that this will be a one-time offer. It can also be that the starting date of the contract doesn't quite match your arrival date, since we depend on cancellations of current tenants. It can happen that an accommodation becomes a bit sooner or later available than your arrival date. Housing, also temporary housing, remains a student’s own responsibility.

Vestide offers the following types of accommodation:

• 1-person accommodation (rent is € 450 - € 850 per month)
• housing for couples (rent starting at € 700 - € 1000 per month)

All housing offered by Vestide is fully furnished. The following costs are included in the rent:

• Gas
• Water
• Electricity
• Internet
• Council taxes and other levies
• Maintenance
• Administration costs
• Safety appliances
• Inspection service
• Partial insurance

No accommodation available via Vestide?
If no accommodation is available with Vestide, we will inform you how to arrange housing via the private market. This information is also available below under Tips and Tricks at this page.

Prices for renting in the private market

• Student room with shared facilities: rent is €400 - €575 per month.
• 1-person accommodation with private facilities: rent is € 750 - € 1000 per month.
• Housing for couples: rent starting at € 1000 per month.
• Housing for families: rent starting at € 1200 per month.

Commercial housing agencies often require a fee for their services. The fee differs per agency, but is usually a few hundred euro. Rental agreement terms can differ per agency/accommodation. In most cases commercial agencies require a minimum period of stay of 6 to 12 months. After this period you are free to cancel the rental agreement with a notice period of one month.

Rental prices in Eindhoven
Housing in Eindhoven is not cheap. This is to give an idea of rental prices:

• 1-person accommodation with shared facilities (student room), rent starts at €400 up to €550 per month (students rooms often require a minimum stay of 6 months).
• 1-person accommodation with private facilities: rental prices from €800 up to €1500 per month.
• Short stay housing for couples: rent starting at €1000 - € 1800 per month.
• Short Stay housing for families: rent starting at € 1500 per month.

SHORT STAY HOUSING
Housing in Eindhoven for short stay guests is offered by commercial housing agencies who offer housing especially aimed at short stayers. This means you are not bound to a rental agreement for a minimum of six to 12 months. Short stay rental agreements are usually for a fixed period agreed upon by tenant and landlord. In most cases you cannot end the rental agreement before the agreed end date.

Consider exploring housing options in nearby towns such as Helmond, Geldrop, or Weert. These locations are well-connected to Eindhoven by excellent public transport and may offer more availability and lower rental prices.
