Research project

TKI-HTSM/20.0295/PPS2006 MEDUSA - Medical Data Utilization Solutions Accelerator

Duration
January 2020 - February 2026
Project Manager

Perinatal, cardiovascular and sleep-related diseases are major societal concerns and healthcare cost drivers. Earlier detection of risk factors for these diseases is critical to lower healthcare costs while simultaneously improving patient quality of life. The MEDUSA project seeks to leverage technological advances in unobtrusive sensing, monitoring and data analysis to enable earlier recognition, mitigate progression and improve treatment of perinatal, cardiovascular and sleep-related diseases. The project will address:
-    Perinatal health: improving care of vulnerable women by early risk identification during pregnancy;
-    Cardiovascular health: patient-specific outcome modelling for peripheral cardiovascular disease, out-of-hospital monitoring of heart-failure patients, improved segmentation of the coronary arterial tree during image-guided intervention;
-    Sleep medicine: multimodal detection and phenotyping of obstructive sleep apnoea, development of an infrastructure for sharing sleep data.
