Energy

Information Systems are central to many energy transition solutions, driving innovations in areas like peer-to-peer energy exchange and the smart charging of electric vehicles. The IS group develops a range of methods, tools, and techniques to support energy transition solutions. Due to its interdisciplinary nature, IS addresses both technical and business challenges. On the technical side, this includes developing AI techniques to balance energy consumption across a network of users. On the business side, IS supports the (re)development of business models for energy communities, fostering sustainable and efficient energy practices.

Topics include:

  • Designing (networked) business models for innovative energy transition solutions.

  • Contextualizing the business model design of energy systems by analysing the impact of regulation.

  • Developing AI solutions for improving the balancing capabilities of a decentralized grid infrastructure.
