Healthcare in Flanders and the Netherlands is under pressure due to an aging population and an increasing number of people with chronic illnesses. WellData (Data for Preventie), a cross-border European project made possible with the support of the European Union, aims to address these issues by focusing on prevention and health promotion. The goal is to keep people healthier and reduce healthcare costs by developing technologies that support healthy lifestyles and prevent diseases.

Outcomes of WellData include the development of new technologies that allow data on lifestyle, well-being, and daily functioning to be securely exchanged between healthcare providers, businesses, and governments in the border region. This paves the way for future integration with the European Health Data Space (EHDS), where health data is centrally collected and shared. For citizens, this means more control over their own health and the ability to make better-informed choices about their lifestyle.

Thanks to WellData, Flanders and the Netherlands can lead the way in developing digital applications that contribute to a healthier society, with the goal of easing the pressure on healthcare and improving citizens' quality of life.

WellData (Data Space for Prevention) is an Interreg Flanders-Netherlands project, co-financed by the province of North Brabant (Netherlands). The Information Systems (IS) research group of Eindhoven University of Technology (果冻传媒) is a proud WellData partner. In the project, 果冻传媒 will transfer knowledge on platform architecture, data& AI-enabled gamification, value-sensitive design, and sustainable business model design.
