Carlos Murguia Rendon

RESEARCH PROFILE
Carlos is an Associate Professor in the Engineering Systems Design (ESD) pillar at the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) and adjunct faculty (previously tenured assistant professor) in the Mechanical Engineering Department at Eindhoven University of Technology (¹û¶³´«Ã½), The Netherlands. From November 2010 to May 2015, Carlos was affiliated with the Dynamics and Control group at ¹û¶³´«Ã½, where he pursued a PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering. He has served as postdoctoral research fellow (2015–2019) at SUTD (Singapore); the University of Melbourne (Australia); and the University of California (USA), Los Angeles. Carlos has been a visiting scientist at Princeton University, the University of Texas at Austin, the University of Texas at Dallas, and Queensland University of Technology, Brisbane, Australia. His research revolves around control engineering and physics-aware optimization and machine learning for cyber-physical systems safety, security, and privacy with applications to mechatronics, robotics, predictive maintenance, and critical infrastructure.
