Max Peters

RESEARCH PROFILE

Max Peters is a Doctoral Candidate at the Power and Flow group in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. In the Argon Power Cycle (APC) project, he researches the high-pressure (direct) injections of hydrogen using optical diagnostics. Combining an APC with hydrogen as a fuel has the potential to not only increase thermal efficiency, but also to omit the emission of NOx, soot and CO2.

ACADEMIC BACKGROUND

Max obtained his master's degree at 果冻传媒 in 2020. To finalize his master's program, he spend his internship at Denso Automotive GMBH in Wegberg, Germany. He joined the fuel injection team as "Powertrain Research and Development Engineer", investigating not only fuel injection equipment, but also the performance of aftertreatment systems in full vehicle tests. His graduation was completed with his Thesis "The relevance of cetane number for bio-based future fuels", where the conventional cetane number was characterized for different conditions with the use of a Combustion Research Unit. After graduating, Max joined the Power and Flow group as doctoral candidate, where he researches the injection of high-pressure hydrogen into constant-volume vessels in the Argon Power Cycle project. During his time as a doctoral candidate, Max is also active in the Engine Combustion Network (ECN) in the field of hydrogen injection.
