RESEARCH PROFILE
Ren茅 van de Molengraft is Chair Robotics at the Mechanical Engineering Department at Eindhoven University of Technology (果冻传媒). His main research interest is in autonomous robotic systems that can perform tasks in the living and working environments of humans, encompassing all the variations that occur therein.
ACADEMIC BACKGROUND
Ren茅 van de Molengraft received his MSc degree (with honors) in Mechanical Engineering from 果冻传媒 in 1986. From 1986 until 1990 he was a research assistant at Eindhoven University of Technology. In 1990 he received his PhD from 果冻传媒 for this thesis on the subject of Identification of Mechanical Systems for Control. He was successively Assistant Professor (1990 to 2008), Associate Professor (2008 until 2024) and Full Professor (since 2024).
In 2005, he founded the Tech United Robocup team (world champion MSL robot soccer in 2012, 2014, 2016, 2018, 2019, 2022, 2023 and 2024 and world champion @Home competition for domestic service robots in 2019 and 2022).
Ren茅 was main organizer of the RoboCup Dutch Open 2012, the RoboCup 2013 world championship (>3000 participants, >40000 visitors), the RoboCup European Open 2016, and the RoboCup 2024 world championship, all in Eindhoven, The Netherlands.
