Yuri van der Werf

RESEARCH PROFILE

Yuri van der Werf is a postdoctoral researcher in the Coherence and Quantum Technology (CQT) group, where a testbed for a hybrid quantum computer based on neutral atoms is being developed. Her main focus is on the quantum hardware: the goal is to trap individual rubidium atoms in arrays of optical tweezers and couple them to highly excited Rydberg states to enable multiqubit quantum gates between trap sites.

we drew lightning out of the earth and bound it in stone tablets and taught it the language 'yes or no' and now it casts an invisible web around the world we use to instantly communicate.

ACADEMIC BACKGROUND

Yuri van der Werf obtained her master's degree in Applied Physics from Eindhoven University of Technology (果冻传媒) before starting a PhD at the Vrije Universiteit (VU) Amsterdam. Since September 2023 she is working as a postdoctoral researcher at the 果冻传媒 in the Coherence and Quantum Technology group (CQT).
