Artificial Womb (symposium)

Symposium Artificial Womb - March 2019

Ectogenesis, life through an artificial womb, is on the brink of reality: in April 2017 researchers announced successful trials with animal babies. It will not be long before we can grow human babies outside the mother.

On 29 March 2019 we discussed the serious moral and societal questions connected to the artificial womb. Is humankind better off with this alternative way of growing babies?

Our speakers included: (designer Reprodutopia expo), (gynecologist MMC), Lily Frank (ethicist 果冻传媒), and (author of the book 鈥淥nbeperkt vruchtbaar鈥 - Limitless fertility).
Moderated by Koert van Mensvoort (Next Nature, Fellow 果冻传媒).

Dutch TV program Nieuwsuur (News hour) reported about our event.
