Flow and dynamics of complex fluids

Research Profile

The mission of the program is to provide high-level education and to conduct research in the broad area of Complex Fluids that focuses on the development and application of novel computational and experimental methods to study the flow and dynamics of complex fluids in areas where morphology and rheology are inherently coupled. The research is focused not only on understanding the fundamental properties that relate materials via processing to properties, but also to develop these methods at such a level that they can be applied to industrially relevant problems. The application areas are found in the range from polymer and food processing, soft condensed matter, cells and bio-polymers in lab-on-a-chip devices.
