Doenja Oogjes is a design researcher in the field of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI). Her research develops more-than-human thinking in design, bringing together digital textile fabrication, ecological approaches and interaction design. Doenja uses research-through-design, speculative design and first-person methods. She has ongoing collaborations with international institutions (such as University of Washington, Emily Carr University of Art and Design, University of Boulder Colorado and Simon Fraser University). She regularly publishes at ACM conferences where her work received two best paper awards (DIS 2018, CHI2022), one best pictorial award (DIS2018) and three honourable mentions (CHI 2018, DIS 2017, DIS2022). She also plays key roles in conference organizing, shaping the discourse as associate chair (ACM DIS2019-2022, CHI 2022-2024), subcommittee chair (DIS 2023) and workshop chair (DIS 2020).
