RESEARCH PROFILE

Georgios G. Vogiatzis obtained his Diploma in Chemical Engineering (2010), MSc degree in Nanotechnology (2012) and PhD in Chemical Engineering (2015) from the National Technical University of Athens, Greece. In the framework of his doctoral thesis, supervised by Prof. Doros N. Theodorou, he developed and applied a multiscale computer simulation strategy for the prediction of structure, thermal, mechanical, and rheological properties of polymer-matrix nanocomposites. Parameters needed at each level of modeling were extracted from more fundamental levels, such that property prediction could ultimately be based on an atomistic force field. Moreover, rigorous coarse- and fine- graining techniques for running up and down the length and time scales have been developed.

After a post-doctoral stay with Prof. Theodorou at NTUA, partially in parallel to his mandatory military service, he joined the Polymer Technology group at 果冻传媒. The ultimate goal of his research effort at 果冻传媒 is to simulate the response of a glassy polymer system while a deformation (at realistic deformation rates) is applied to it, using as sole input its chemical constitution.

His research interests lie in the field of molecular simulations and high performance computing, specifically in addressing the challenge of simulating the wide spectrum of length and time scales of polymer (nanocomposite) melts and glasses, the slow polymer dynamics at polymer-solid interfaces and the structure of the interfaces formed during the directed self-assembly of diblock copolymers.
