Doctoral Candidate

Gijs Wensink

RESEARCH PROFILE

Gijs Wensink is a PhD candidate in the Energy Technology group of Mechanical Engineering. He is working within the DeepNL project 'Making digital rocks a practical reality for energy storage within subsurface reservoirs' supervised by dr. Maja R眉cker and prof. David Smeulders. His current research focuses on studying multiphase fluid flows in porous media at sub-pore scale using experimental techniques such as Atomic Force Microscopy.

ACADEMIC BACKGROUND

Gijs Wensink obtained his BSc degree in Chemical engineering at the University of Twente in 2019 and his Msc degree at the University of Twente with a Chemical & Process Engineering specialization in 2021. His Msc project involved studying heat transport processes during regeneration of CO2 direct air capture (DAC) adsorbents.
