Lizan Kivits
Department / Institute

RESEARCH PROFILE
Currently, Lizan is working as a postdoctoral researcher in the Control Systems Group at Eindhoven University of Technology (果冻传媒). She is working on the project System Identification in Dynamic Networks (SYSDYNET), under supervision of Full Professor Paul Van den Hof. The topic of her part of the research concerns modelling and identification of physical networks.
To quote Albert Einstein: 'In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity.'
ACADEMIC BACKGROUND
Lizan Kivits received her bachelor鈥檚 degree in Electrical Engineering and her master鈥檚 degree in Systems and Control (with great appreciation) from Eindhoven University of Technology, Eindhoven, The Netherlands, in 2014 and 2017, respectively. Her master thesis was entitled 鈥淐ontrol relevant model reduction for disturbance decoupling鈥 and was supervised by Full Professor Siep Weiland. In June 2017 she started as a researcher in the Control Systems research group at the Department of Electrical Engineering, Eindhoven University of Technology and in July 2018, she continued as a Ph.D. researcher in this research group. She received her doctoral degree in 2024. Her thesis was entitled "Modelling and identification of physical linear networks" and was supervised by Full Professor Paul van den Hof. Currently, she is working as a postdoctoral researcher in the same group.
Her research interests include (mathematical) modelling, (data-driven) system identification, and physical systems. She is enthousiastic about teaching.
