RESEARCH PROFILE

Piyush Kaul is an assistant professor in the Integrated Circuits group at the Department of Electrical Engineering at Eindhoven University of Technology (果冻传媒). His research interests include electronic components (driver amplifiers, TIA, VGA, etc.) for electro-optical applications, millimeter wave/THz integrated circuit design, and IC to Antenna transitions for packaging and integration. Some of his key research goals are to design an integrated electronics-based spectrometer at THz frequencies for spectroscopy applications, broadband amplifiers in integrated electronic-photonic systems, and effective packaging of silicon ICs with antennas using IC-to-waveguide contactless transitions.

ACADEMIC BACKGROUND

Piyush Kaul received his B.Sc. degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Birla Institute of Technology, Ranchi, India, in 2012 and M.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering from Eindhoven University of Technology (果冻传媒), Eindhoven, The Netherlands in 2017. He completed his PhD in 2024, with the Integrated Circuits (IC) group in the department of Electrical Engineering at Eindhoven University of Technology (果冻传媒), Eindhoven, The Netherlands.
