Teaching is a central component of most faculty roles, and by integrating pedagogical training into graduate programs, we can better support graduate students' progression into faculty positions. This work moves beyond sharing teaching tips; it must focus on inspiring a shift in mindset and cultivating a positive professional identity that embraces teaching.

In this session, participants will reflect on their aspirations for graduate student development and explore a professional development model used in Harvard University鈥檚 Mathematics Department, offering both inspiration and an honest look at ongoing challenges. Participants will leave with new ideas and strategies to strengthen professional development opportunities that help graduate students become more purposeful, confident instructors.

This session will be led by Brendan Kelly, Director of Introductory Math at Harvard University. Come prepared to participate, as the session will be interactive and draw on the shared experiences of the audience.

This event is open to teachers and support staff; registration is free and can be done . Free lunch and drinks will be available to those attending in person.
