Effective visualization can greatly enhance student comprehension, especially in mathematics and engineering courses. Manim, a powerful Python library for mathematical animations, allows educators to create dynamic lecture notes that clarify complex concepts.

In this session, Matthew James, lecturer at the Mechanical Engineering department, will cover a few examples of how Manim can be used to illustrate abstract ideas. He will also demonstrate how to create an animation live during the presentation.

Manim is a free, community-driven tool with a growing user base and extensive documentation. While it offers impressive capabilities, it still has a few bugs and limitations that users should be aware of. Click the for more information about Manim community edition.

This event is open to teachers and support staff; registration is free and can be done . Free lunch and drinks will be available.
