I鈥檓 designing multi-objective frameworks to optimize smart building envelopes.
To meet the sustainability targets our buildings need to evolve from static to dynamic entities capable of interacting with the environments to reduce energy consumption and increase user comfort. At 果冻传媒, I steer the development of smart building envelopes (SBE) at TNO by leveraging advanced building simulation and computation. By developing multi-objective optimization frameworks, I investigate the potential of SBE in becoming an integral part of renovation solutions for the Dutch residential sector.
I chose the PDEng project because it provided me with a unique opportunity to develop technical and interpersonal skills while bending research with design. After my PDEng, I intend to continue working on making our buildings more sustainable.
