Since my university studies, I have been fond of structural engineering, especially for bridges. Working for couple of years as a bridge Engineer I was sure that it was my way to go, however due to different circumstances I have started to take part in the different kind of projects. And my role in the project has been more and more inclined towards the management side rather than to structural engineering. Whilst being extremely interesting, my latest projects used to give me less satisfaction then the earliest bridge related ones. Hence, I have starting to search for changes and found a way in my PDEng project where together with Rijkswaterstaat I investigate the relation between the design of a bridge with its desirable design life.

With this PDEng project I strive to update and strengthen my competence in the structural domain with an intension to restart my career as a bridge engineer.
